Gauloise have returned.

The French cigarette company, Seita, has changed Canadian distributors, and are giving their leading brand a new retail push in both English and French Canada.

French cigarettes have never made much market impact in Canada beyond a narrow euro-chic clique. With new packaging, and more aggressive retailing (including many point-of-sale displays), they may be more successful.

The secret of any success, however, will likely remain quite secret.  Health Canada will only release sales figures for the major three tobacco companies. Sales figures for Gauloise are not made public.

Check Seita's home page for more information on Gauloise and 'blonde' cigarettes
